Tezpur, Dirang, Tawang, Bomdila, Bhalupong
DAY 1 : GUWAHATI to TEZPUR : 185 KM / 04.00 Hours Welcome on arrival in Guwahati Airport/Station (kindly book morning arrival flight) and drive to TEZPUR. Enroute we can do River Dolphin Tour on the mighty River Brahmaputra. Check in your hotel. Visit the ruins and remains of Agnigarh. Later visit Chitralekha Udyan (Cole Park) where you can enjoy boating. Visit any other places of interest as time permits. Overnight stay in Tezpur.
DAY 02: TEZPUR to DIRANG : 200 KM / 05.00 Hours Start early in the morning for Dirang.. On the way visit Orchid Research Centre, an orchidarium with about 10,000 orchid plants belonging to various genera and species. Arunachal has the largest range of orchids in the country. Continue your drive and do not forget to keep your cameras handy as you cross beautiful waterfalls and get some spectacular views. Enroute visit Nag Mandir. Arrive and check in to your hotel. After lunch visit the regional apple Nursery, kiwi farm, hot water spring, Sangti Valley and Dzong Fort. Overnight stay in Dirang.
DAY 03: Dirang to TAWANG : 140 KM / 06.00 Hours Morning after breakfast, drive to Tawang (10,000 ft). En route witness the unique Dirang Valley famous for its monasteries, hot Springs, Apple & kiwi Orchards, sheep breeding farms & charming valleys. Also witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 13700 ft, the Jaswant Garh War Memorial and Jung Falls. Overnight in Tawang.
DAY 04: TAWANG LOCAL Tawang is the beautiful land of the Monpa tribes. ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. After breakfast, visit the Tawang Monastery, Urgelling Monastery, Ani Gompa. The Tawang Monastery, also known as the “GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE” is one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia and is the largest of its kind in India. The Monastery is 400-year-old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. It stands at 10,000 feet amidst the exotic Himalayan ranges and overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. The Urgelling Monastery is located 5 km from Tawang city, and is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, born in the 1 7th century. The monastery was established by the Lama Urgen Sangpo in the 1 5th century. Later visit the War Memorial commemorating the bravery of the Indian heroes of the Indo-China war of 1962. Witness the light & sound show in the evening. Overnight in Tawang.
DAY 05: TAWANG LOCAL • After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Sangestar Lake, Bum La Pass(Additional Cost) and China Border (subject to permission from Indian Army). The Sangestar Lake, or more popularly known as the Madhuri Lake, is about 20 kms from Tawang, en route to the road leading to Bum La Pass. The lake is surrounded by the majestic snow-capped mountains and a marvelous valley offering spectacular views. The Bum La Pass is one of the four officially agreed BPM (Border Personnel Meeting) point between Indian Army and People’s Liberation Army of China for regular consultations and interactions between the two armies, which helps in defusing face-offs. The other BPM points in India are – Chushul in Ladakh, Nathu La in Sikkim and Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand
DAY 06: Tawang to BOMDILA : 180 KM / 06.00 Hours : After Breakfast transfer to Bomdila. Check in the hotel on arrival. Visit Bomdila Manastery, Bomdila Viewpoint, Apple Orchards. Bomdila offers wonderful panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow-clad ranges. Evening you can visit the local market. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 07 Bomdila- Bhalukpong or Nameri National Park (1 10 Km | 4 Hrs): After Breakfast Transfer to Nameri National Park.. This place is an elephant reserve. It is an ideal habitat for a host of other animals including the tiger, leopard, sambar, dhole (the Asiatic wild dog), pygmy hog, Indian wild bison, clouded leopard, leopard cat, muntiac, gaur, wild boar. Sloth bear, Himalayan Black Bear, capped Langur & Indian giant squirrel. Nameri National Park is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 300 species. The white winged wood duck, great pied hornbill, wreathed hornbill, rufous necked hornbill, black stork, ibisbill, blue-bearded bee-eaters, babblers, plovers and many other birds make Nameri National Park their home. Check in at your hotel. Natures walk to the Jia Bhoreli (Kameng River) and back. Evening you are free for leisure. Overnight stay at Bhalukpong.
Day 08: Bhalukpong or Nameri National Park – Guwahati (220 Km | 4.5 Hrs) • Morning, we proceed for River Rafting on the Jia Bhoreli (Kameng River) (optional) and/or Jungle Trekking (optional). After Breakfast Proceed to Guwahati having lifetime memories with TRAVELLERS ESCAPE
